The AFM® Activated Filter Media (21kg bags) produces crystal clear water and is recognized as the top-performing filter media available, boasting a certified filtration rate of 1 micron. This exceptional capability allows it to eliminate approximately 50% more organic substances from water compared to sand and other glass filter media.
AFM® serves as a direct substitute for sand, effectively doubling the performance of sand filters.
AFM® is a meticulously engineered product made from a specific type of glass, which is processed to achieve the ideal particle size and shape. Subsequently, it undergoes a 3-step activation process that enhances its surface area by up to 300 times, resulting in superior mechanical and electro-static filtration performance. The activated surface of AFM® possesses self-sterilising properties that inhibit bacteria mud-balling, coagulation, and the channelling of unfiltered water through the filter bed.
