Time to Upgrade your Swimming pool Cover

Posted by steve, in InGround Pool Advice

Replace a Swimming Pool Debris Cover or switch to a Safety or Automatic Cover

Its about this time of year the Pool owners will start to think about when in the autumn to close down their swimming pool. Although there a few months left before this wonderful summer finally comes to an end, if your Swimming Pool debris covers needs to be replaced then acting sooner rather than later is the name of the game as there can be a rush on these made to measure items.

Why stick to a debris cover though?? We have found that an increasing number of our customers are making the switch to a safety cover. Increasingly, we are finding that pool owners who are also grandparents are the main instigators when looking at replacing their swimming pool debris cover with something more safe.

Cost of a safety cover is the main drawback for most people but there are cheaper solutions that provide peace of mind without stretching the budget.

The Calypso Safety Cover is a manual cover that is covered under the french safety laws on swimming pools. Far cheaper than an automatic safety cover the calypso bar cover is made of extremely strong anti-UV treated polyester. With 3 years warranty the cover is made from a single piece of polyester, which provides increased strength and durability.

For those with slightly deeper pockets and who are looking for an automatic cover rather than a debris cover there are solar powered covers such as the Aquadeck by Procopi . The Aquadeck is quick to install and easy to use with no electrical wiring needed.

There are a number of options if you are interested in looking at an alternative to a debris cover. Prices are not as high as they have been which is mainly down to the increase in demand which makes these covers cheaper to produce. If you would like to talk to someone regarding replacing your debris cover or looking at an alternative solution, please give one of our advisers a call.

Swimming Gold!!

Posted by steve, in Above Ground Pools Advice

Well done Rebecca Adlington!!

Great to see team GB get a Gold at Swimming today, first gold from the womens GB team in 48 years. Might not be the best of swimming weather over here but hey it gives us an excuse for some armchair sports. Lets hope the sun starts to shine here and we get a few more medals in the Pool.

Staycation: What To Do With The Kids At Home This School Holiday

Posted by steve, in Above Ground Pools Advice, Above ground Pools

holiday at home

Not going abroad this summer and dont fancy the traffic queues to Devon and Cornwall, this years new catchphrase is Staycation. With petrol going through the roof and people now concerned about their carbon footprint stay at home holidays are this year more popular than ever before.

But the big question is what to do with the kids on school summer holiday?

How hard is it finding things to do with the children on the school summer holidays? Everywhere you go it costs a small fortune and most times you just do not get value for money. The obvious answer is just stay at home and do nothing, not the best thing for the kids but it certainly will be the cheapest.

One way of staying at home and keeping the kids amused during the school holidays is to buy a pool for the garden. For one initial outlay and the time spent watching them to make sure they are safe you have the cheapest form of childcare around.

All you will need is the pool and some chemicals and you have summer long entertainment for your kids. Not only are they enjoying themselves but you also know exactly where they are.

The cheapest option is a 10ft easy set pool, which comes with a pump and filter, a floating chlorine dispenser buoy (or 1kg chlorine granules) and some test strips. All this only will cost £69.98 (or £67.98), the cost of one day out to and amusement park or the zoo.

If you have more room in you garden and a larger budget we have 12ft pools starting at £65, 15ft pools at £179 for a complete pool package with covers and cleaner. We also have metal frame pools starting at only £45. These metal frame pools are more robust and will work better on slightly uneven ground.

Putting a summer pool in your garden will allow the kids to spend time at home, be outside, enjoy themselves, keep active and without you having to continually fork out for all the activities that you would normally have to be paying for all through the summer school holidays.

Look at our above ground pool page and choose the best option pool for your garden, then stop paying out for every time your children want to be amused this summer.
